 CDCs are on-post child care centers that offer full-day, part-day and hourly care for children in nationally accredited environments. Before/Afterschool Preschool follows the published SHAPE Belgian Kindergarten Schedule. 

Sports and Fitness Programs provide team sports, individual sports, fitness and health programs and, programming at Child Development Centers, School Age and Youth Programs. Pre-registration is required for Sports and Fitness Programs. Children and youth that are currently registered in CYS can be enrolled in Sports and Fitness using WebTrac.

The National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) has a website for evaluation of coaches. Parents have the opportunity to evaluate coaches on the NAYS website. Parents must have the coach member number to rate their coach. You can get this number from the CYS Sports and Fitness office.

SKIES Unlimited stands for “School of Knowledge, Inspiration, Exploration and Skills” with the word “Unlimited” for the unlimited possibilities that this program provides children and youth: 

• All participants must be registered with CYS
• On-going enrollment for most classes (New students may need to wait for open enrollment)
• Currently enrolled SKIES students will be automatically re-enrolled into the next session for most classes to retain their space. Payment for the session must be made before the first day of class.
• Classes will be filled on a first paid basis.

Children and Youth that are currently registered in CYS may be able to enroll for some of the SKIES classes using WebTrac.

Parent and Outreach Services is the gateway that connects Families to CYS programs. Its mission is to support Readiness and Well-Being of Families by helping to balance military mission requirements and parental responsibilities.

Child & Youth Services offers services to SHAPE members as defined in the SHAPE Directive 40-9. To verify eligibility, please visit CYS Parent Central Services.  We look forward to fulfilling your child care needs as well as offering sports and fitness programs, instructional classes, camps, and open recreation activities for your child/youth based upon space availability.

School age care is offered to grades 1 - 5/6 depending on school configuration. Children have access to computer labs and can receive help on daily homework assignments. Programs are nationally accredited and utilize standard curricula through formal partnerships with nationally-recognized organizations such as 4-H and Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA). This program follows the SHAPE American Elementary School schedule for out of school days and school breaks.

School Support Services (SSS) provides Army school-aged youth with educational opportunities, resources, and information necessary to achieve academic success. A branch of Child and Youth Services (CYS), SSS is home to the School Liaison Office, where School Liaison Officers (SLOs) help deliver the best educational resources and information for your children.

We specialize in education transitions, and make sure that incoming and exiting families have information about local schools, after-school services and programs, youth sponsorship programs, graduation, and home schooling. We also help parents better understand the education process, school organization, and interaction strategies.

Head coaches and assistant coaches can receive discounts for their participating children.

Background checks must be cleared on all coaches prior to team assignment.

• Fingerprint checks are good for five (5) years.
• Coaches must attend one of the coach orientation clinics to review the rules and coaching policies and become certified online through the National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS).
• No prior coaching experience necessary and candidates must be at least 16 years older to apply for a volunteer coach position.

The Youth Centers have a wide range of programs for youth in grades 6-12, offering fun-filled afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Free Middle School Teen (MST) programs are offered daily after school and in the afternoons during the summer. MST morning camps are also offered at a nominal fee during the summer to complement the free afternoon program. 

There are special activities for youth scheduled on a continual basis, including social activities and field trips. CYS programs utilize partnerships with 4-H Clubs, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and Character Counts to bring enhanced curriculum and other opportunities for growth and development to our children and youth. Programs are intended to offer positive alternatives that will minimize "at risk" behavior during parental duty hours. Program follows the SHAPE American Middle School schedule for out of school days and breaks.
